2. Analytics needs your permission
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, from which countries, and which pages they read. We use it to decide what to improve. If you refuse, no Google file is loaded and none of these cookies is set.

3. Cookies set by other sites we link to
The "buy the book" and "free chapter" links forward you to Amazon and to a Mailchimp landing page respectively. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies, which we neither control nor can change on your behalf.
4. Withdrawing your permission
Use the "Cookie preferences" control in the footer of any page, or the button at the top of this one. When you withdraw a permission we delete the associated cookies and stop loading that service. Refusing does not restrict access to any content on this site.
You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings. Note that deleting the
tpe_consent cookie means we will ask again, since that is where your choice is
recorded.
